GLOSSARY OF TERMS

Daylilies are sold by the "fan" which is one plant. Our listings will show the price per fan as shown below:
SF = 1 fan
DF = 2 fans
TF = 3 fans
CL = a clump of 4 or more fans

Daylilies bloom through an extended period of time from mid-May to late August. Peak bloom season is from June 1st - 30th in my zone 7. The designation in our listings for the bloom season, regardless of zone, is as follows:
EE = early early
E = early
EM = early-mid
M = mid
ML = mid-late
L = late
VL = very late

Daylilies typically grow as diploids or tetraploids which relates to the number of chromosomes they have. Our listings designate them as:
DIP = diploid
TET = tetraploid

Daylilies can grow as dormant, semi-evergreen or evergreen in winter depending on the genes in the plant. This designation is listed as such:
DOR
SEV
EV

The daylily's height and width of flower bloom are shown in inches in each listing.
FKA in front of a name means "Future Known As" - it is an unregistered hybrid which has already been given a name.

There are other designations that describe the bloom form of each specific flower. They are as follows:
DBL = double
UFO = unidentified form
SGL = single
POLY = polytepal - this occurs occasionally in daylilies and some are bred to polytepal on every bloom. Polytepaling is when a daylily that normally has 3 top petals and 3 lower petals (sepals) blooms with 4 petals and 4 sepals. It is an added dimension that can really make a bloom pop!
CRIST = cristate - a bloom that is cristate form has twisted extra petal tissue in the center of the bloom
SPIDER = this form has long narrow petals and sepals, sometimes curled, sometimes straight
